Tasting Room Details

Established in 2004, Galante Vineyards is proud to be Carmel's first "Wine Tasting Room.” Our Tasting Room reflects our cattle ranch heritage with a casual and welcoming western theme. We cordially invite you and your guests to stop by to experience our western hospitality for yourself.

All of our wines are grown and produced on our property in the hills high above Carmel Valley village in the Carmel Valley Appellation. Our region is especially suited for the bolder Bordeaux varietal wines. Since all of our grapes are estate grown, each bottle of wine we produce embodies the characteristics of our unique region, exhibiting the natural flavors that are born from the land.

Our Website

The Galante Family has a long history in the Monterey area. Owner Jack Galante's great grandfather, J.F. Devendorf, was the founder of the town of Carmel. He later built the Pine Inn and the prestigious Highlands Inn.

In 1969, Jack's parents purchased a 700-acre cattle ranch in rustic Carmel Valley. While still maintaining a working cattle ranch, the Galantes, in 1983, began growing premium grapes on their property, specializing in Cabernet Sauvignon. In 1994, Jack Galante decided to build a winery and use his grapes to produce ultra-premium estate bottled wines. Galante Vineyards has always had a very simple philosophy: grow the finest grapes and let the fruit express itself in the wine. Today Galante is recognized as one of the premier wine producers in Monterey County and all of California. Well known for our Cabernet Sauvignon wines, we also make limited amounts of estate grown Malbec, Petite Sirah, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Viognier and several blends.

Our wine label is very special to us and reflects our roots as cattle ranchers. The image of the label is a photograph of real leather, hand-tooled by a California saddle maker with silver conchos in each corner designed by a local silversmith.

We also participate in and hold many events throughout the year. Please refer to our calendar of events on our website. For a one on one approach, tours and tasting with lunch, by appointment only, offer a personal look into our winemaking process. We can also arrange a private tasting/party for small or large groups.

For a truly unique experience, book a stay at our Ranch House (sleeps 7) to enjoy the property.
